Anyone who has smoked with me knows that I am a big fan of the robust size, and this Dominican did not leave me disappointed. The Avo had a pre-light aroma of oak and leather, with a bit of caramel sweetness to it. It lit well and easily with a bit of harshness off the draw that quickly dissipated. The sweet spot of this cigar was in the middle. There was a full, hearty flavor of hardwoods and earth, with a lingering sweetness left over from the first third. Medium bodied, with smooth smoke, it leaves behind the aftertaste of semi-sweet chocolate and a bit of an espresso bite. An easy smoke with a good flavor, the Avo came highly recommended for good reason. I’m glad that I have a few more in my humidor.
