Bulleit Bourbon – Frontier Whiskey

Bulleit Bourbon:

Bulleit has a deep, rich caramel color that is a subtle hint at the chewiness and sweet flavor of this bourbon.

The nose is a full scent of sweet corn and toasted caramel, with a slight overtone of grain. This is a full and deep aroma that can be overpowering if unexpected, but is sweet and rich if you cherish a good bourbon’s nose.

The flavor is sweet and chewy, yet still light on your palette. Bulleit’s flavor opens with sweet grains and the taste of molasses. As the bourbon warms and tingles its way back, the distinct flavors of toasted caramel and spice come out. There is a definite heat to the finish, but one that is light and airy rather than deep and filling. This is an incredibly easy drinking whiskey, but not for the novice as it has the full burn of bourbon. The sweetness makes you want to come back for another sip.

Bulleit is a moderately priced whiskey that has all the sweet, chewy flavor that I have come to enjoy about good bourbons. It is sweet and full without being  syrupy, with a burn that doesn’t get harsh. After finishing a bottle of Bulleit bourbon, I find myself wondering why I don’t have another. This might have to become a staple of my liquor cabinet

One Response to Bulleit Bourbon – Frontier Whiskey

Certainly a staple in my bar, Bullet is an outstanding choice. The whole brand is impressive, if you enjoy their straight Bourbon, give their small batch and rye a chance and you’ll be glad you did! Because of it’s smooth finish and the easy drinking nature, Bullet is my go to bottle when introducing new or casual whiskey drinkers to quality spirits.
